SAFE Background
In 2005, a consortium of biopharmaceutical companies and the PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) Foundation formed a non-profit company to develop Signatures and Authentication For Everyone - SAFE™. SAFE establishes a global digital identity trust standard.

The SAFE Baseline standards provide an electronic format that should be safe, legally enforceable and allow for electronic signatures as governed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's 21 CFR Part 11 legislation. The standards are global and include participation from companies, associations and regulatory agencies in Asia and Europe.

Cybertrust was selected by SAFE-BioPharma and its members to build and manage the SAFE Bridge CA Trust Infrastructure.

SAFE Bridge
The SAFE Bridge CA solution provides for the issuance, validation and support of SAFE cross-certificates as well as Help Desk and Global Support Services for SAFE Issuers. It incorporates industry-leading UniCERT™ CA technology, our global hosting and support services.

SAFE Issuer
Our solution provides Certification Authority and Registration Authority services, together with systems that perform transaction processing functions for SAFE-enabled applications managed by SAFE members. The SAFE Issuer Credential Service is built as a scalable architecture complemented by Card Management Services (CMS), Roaming Credential Services, LDAP-based Directory Services, and OCSP Services.
