Homeland Security Presidential Security Directive HSPD-12 was signed on August 27, 2004, in response to the general threat of unauthorized access to physical facilities and logical IT assets. Its primary objective is the development and deployment of a Federal Government-wide common and reliable identification verification system that will be interoperable among all Government agencies and serve as the basis for reciprocity between those agencies.
Cybertrust, one of only three certified commercial Shared Service Providers (SSP) for PKI, has developed this resource center to support HSPD-12 compliance and to pave the way for robust HSPD-12 solutions.
